Amy Kitcher describes the highs and lows of being a councillor in Merthyr

The Golden Dozen

A brief opinion piece, written by Lib Dem councillor Amy Kitcher, describing her experiences as a newly elected councillor in Merthyr Tydfil has achieved a measure of national recognition.

The article which was published jointly on her Facebook profile and also on her new blog, Liberal Light, describes the highs and lows of the first 12 months of office.

Amy said, "I think it is important to let people know about the obstacles we have found ourselves up against as newly elected Lib Dems in Methyr. That's why I wrote the article.

"I'm pleased that people have enjoyed reading it and that it was featured on"The Golden Dozen: - Top of the Blogs" weekly round-up list."
