Merthyr and Rhymney Lib Dems complete massive survey10.04.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 20th May 2009
Liberal Democrats in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney have just completed the largest survey of residents opinions ever conducted in the area. Over 25,000 questionnaires have been distributed to homes right across our community - and the results are flooding in. Amy Kitcher said, "Too often politicians think communication just flows in one direction and they don't know how, or understand why it is important, to ask people for their views. The Lib Dems are different, we believe it is important to listen to local people have to say." The survey, which asked questions on the environment, the economy, young people and education, has been well received by residents. Lib Dem group leader on Merthyr Council, Kevin O'Connor, added, "The results have been really informative and will help us to continue formulating our local policies."
