Merthyr Lib Dem Councillors complete charity run

Local Councillors Amy Kitcher and Kevin O'Connor ran the Cardiff Half Marathon for Ty Hafan

Merthyr Liberal Democrat councillors Amy Kitcher and Kevin O'Connor completed the Cardiff Half Marathon yesterday in aid of Ty Hafan, raising over £700 to help children with life limiting conditions.

Amy Kitcher said, "I have never done anything like this before and I knew it would be difficult. I didn't get a very quick time but I was determined to finish and thinking of the money we were raising for charity really helped.

"Ty Hafan has always been an important charity to me, but I became more determined to help them after I became a mother myself last year."

Amy completed the course in a time of 3hrs10mins, while Kevin was a little further ahead, finishing in 2hrs24mins.

Kevin added, "I decided to run with Amy to support her in her training. I have been so pleased with how generous local people have been with their sponsorship."
