In an innovative approach to consultation, Lib Dem candidate Amy Kitcher is taking the time to "Focus on the Frontline", by working alongside the people who know our public services the best.

Amy spent a night shift with South Wales Police, shadowing officers as they went about their day-to-day duties.

"It's only when you get 'up close and personal' with people on the frontline of public services can you really appreciate the complexities and importance of the work they do," said Amy.

"I'm really grateful for the opportunity to follow our local sergeant and PCSO and to find out for myself the real issues facing our local police and the communities that they serve."

Amy spent seven hours with Police and spent time discussing the challenges facing our police.

Amy, who is fighting a strong campaign to become Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney's next MP, added, "I believe it is important to understand the issue that face our community and I am determined to listen to the views of people who are already on the frontline of dealing with them. Crime and disorder is a major concern to local residents and I'm making it top of my list of priorities for action"
